For example, nonpublic personal information includes information regarding your account balance, payment history and overdraft history. Access to non-public, personal information is limited to Bank employees with a valid business reason for such access. Additionally, InsurBanc builds checks and balances into procedures; such as asking information only you would know when you call us so that we can properly identify clients. Clients can also help safeguard their personal information by taking a few simple precautions. Protect your account, PIN and client access numbers. Never share your password or disclose confidential information to unknown callers. Financial institutions are permitted to share client information with companies and third parties under certain conditions. InsurBanc has established a relationship with independent insurance agents who are non-affiliated third parties. InsurBanc does not share information obtained except with the independent insurance agent when considered pertinent. Therefore, InsurBanc will provide clients with a prescribed disclosure that information may be disclosed to their independent insurance agent and give them the opportunity to prevent (opt out) of such disclosure to said third party before the disclosure of information takes place. InsurBanc will not obtain personally identifying information when you visit our website unless you choose to provide such information. Additionally, InsurBanc will not require you to send confidential information such as your social security number or account numbers via e-mail. If this information is needed we will ask you to provide it via telephone, mail or in person. We may enter the information you provide into our electronic database, and you may also be contacted by us for additional information. InsurBanc understands the importance of security on the Internet. Established clients of the Bank will key in a login ID and a confidential password. We have established security procedures to protect against unauthorized access. The Bank utilizes a “3 strikes and you’re out” lockout mechanism to deter users from repeated login attempts. After three unsuccessful login attempts, the system locks the user out, requiring either a designated wait period or a phone call to the Bank to verify the password before re-entry into the system. The Bank’s Internet banking system utilizes a combination of ICSA (International Computer Security Association) approved security technologies to protect data for the Bank and for the client. It features password-controlled system entry, a digital ID for the Bank’s server, protocol for data encryption and a router loaded with a firewall to regulate the inflow and outflow of server traffic. A firewall is a security mechanism that regulates the data going in and out of a computer network. Data filters through a router and firewall before it is permitted to reach the server. A router, a piece of hardware, works in conjunction with the firewall, a piece of software, to block unauthorized and direct traffic coming to the server.
