Token-Based Authentication
With security tokens, InsurBanc protects critical online transactions from unauthorized access. Transaction-based activity including ACH and wire transfers will require the use of a token-based password before you can perform the transaction.
The security token is a small hand held device that generates unique random numbers that are used as a transaction password.
Because the token-based passwords are valid for a very short period of time and can only be used once, an unauthorized user attempting these transactions would be blocked without the physical possession of the token.
Here’s how it works.
- When you attempt to submit an ACH or wire transfer, you will be prompted to enter a token password.
- Simply press the button on the token and a password will display for approximately 30 seconds. The token password will be available for a few minutes after displaying.
Positive Pay
With Positive Pay, InsurBanc helps protect your business from the potential losses and decreased cash flows caused by check fraud. It is a safe and efficient way to detect counterfeit and fraudulent checks.
Here’s how it works
- The client issues a check file through InsurBanc.
- The system compares the check file to checks presented for payment to detect potential fraudulent activity.
- Positive pay then automatically flags exceptions (potentially fraudulent checks) and delivers a report to you via our Online Banking system.
- Through the online banking system, you then advise the Bank of those checks to be paid and those not to be paid.
- As a bonus, Positive Pay customers will be enrolled in e-alerts to receive notifications when exceptions are posted.
Exception items will include:
- Checks not on the issue file
- Checks with different dollar amounts
- Checks with different check numbers
